Sorry. Lapierre.

Oh yeah, it took almost three weeks longer for me to get my Synergistic Research Element Tungsten SE power cord than promised. I must say though......worth the wait. Hope your SR stuff is working out Lampierre.

My Lightspeed passive is working nicely with the new Job 225 amplifier. I'm awaiting delivery of a Bent TAP-X autoformer preamp in two days. This will be my second time having the Bent TAP-X in my system, but this time in a completely different setup.

Dean_man thanks for the complement. Currently making adjustments to the setup and looking for new equipment rack. I should be posting new pictures soon with my new Nikon D800 camera.

Gadmanrds I will keep that in mind. I've been looking at MC452 as a change up to tubes for the summer. The listening room can get a bit warm during the summer.

lapierre

Hey lapierre, btw, if you ever decide to part ways w/the 275's let me know. I'd sure be interested in one! Keep me in mind, Mike.

gadmanrdh

Love the components and system!

dean_man

After hours, no, MONTHS of researching passives and which one to put in the system, I've ultimately decided to try the Lightspeed Attenuator on my current system. I've owned the Lightspeed before but on a system with much higher "passive preamp friendly" specs. That's why I was on the fence for so long about buying another one. If it doesn't work out, for whatever reason, I will sell it and buy Audio Consulting transformers and other necessary parts and have my friend build a TVC passive using the AC trannys. I hope the LSA works though.

Which preamp did you order?

SR is running 3 weeks behind build time.

lapierre

Lapierre: FYI, I am awaiting delivery of a SR Tungsten SE power cord and new passive preamp. Should be wonderful. I'll let you know.

devilboy

Element Tungsten on Source for sure. The Tungsten line is in the winner of the group only gets better as you go up the line. Add in a Element Copper on the Amp to save some cash.

Thanks Joey for the consult.

Copper Element used on preamp and source which needs more time to settle in before making change.

Ordering longer interconnect for my source. Any suggestions?

lapierre

Try the Tungsten on your CDP/DAC and then compare and switch Copper from Amp to CDP. I assume you will like the Tungsten on the CDP. The whole system will get the benefits from the better cable from start/source to finish. ;-) Have fun and let us know how it sounds. Thanks!

joeyboynj

hey Joeyboynj! The audition is going great! So far I have only tried the Tungsten on my PS Audio P3 and immediately I noticed much more clarity. Its as if I was looking through a dirty window this whole time. I am going to start there then add another Tungsten to my integrated amp. What do you suggest for my cdp/dac? Tungsten or Copper?

Do you know where I can buy SR cables at a good price? :)

tboooe

Tboooe,

How did you like the Element Tungsten Power Cords? Also, please note that Synergistic cabling works better if all your Power cords are S.R. brand. Therefore, use a S.R. PC on your power plant and all your components plus a Teslapex SE outlet to get the best overall performance out of your system. Have fun!

joeyboynj

I got some Tungsten power cords coming this Friday for audition. Hopefully I will see some improvement!

tboooe

Thanks Defride. The room is slowly shaping up. Plenty on the to do list.

To answer your question, I'm always skeptical.

Auditioned power cabling system from SR weeks ago.

The end result... I will be adding 6 SR components soon.

Can't say fairer than that, will look out for an opportunity to hear their stuff one day

If I cannot tell a difference in sonic character, then usually I don't buy the product. But better could have a slight advantage or significant advantage.

lapierre

Yes Synergistic products can leave someone skeptical. They're constantly coming out with new products and upgrades, but like I always said, "If it sounds better, it's not snake oil". Glad the SRs are working out for you Lapierre.

devilboy

Hi Pierre, glad to see you finally got settle and have your system set up in a nice dedicated room ;)

Nice to see you back up and running Lapierre.

Interested to see you trying SR stuff, have to say their marketing has left me a mite bit skeptical of their product. If it works then fair enough I guess. Not much scope to experiment with it on this side of the pond.

All the best and good luck getting the room as you want it.

defride

Thank you Lapierre. I will give the Tungstens a shot starting first with the power cord then moving on to the interconnects. I wonder how much better the Element is over the Tesla SE? I can get the Teslas for a lot cheaper.

tboooe

Owner
Tommy. Element Tungsten revealed exceptional high frequency and holographic soundstaging. The soundstaging presented more depth and instrument placement which is exactly what you need for smaller rooms.

Experiment with Element Tungsten first on PS Audio Powerplant and then Accustic Arts Power 1 MK2 to determine which has more impact.

lapierre

Lapierre, I noticed on another member's virtual system you recommended some SR Tesla ac cords and in this thread you are trying out the new Element cords. I am curious if you had some thoughts on these? I am considering the Tesla SE T3 cable though I must admit the description of the Element Tungsten is exactly what I am after in my system. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

There was a pair listed on the GON for two months but it recently sold.

Maybe something else after the SR purchase.

lapierre

I didn't know you were considering the Raidho Lapierre.
