Large floor-standing rosewood speakers. I could probably list them as excellent, but I'll leave some room on that one. They are in great condition, and I have the boxes, manuals, and sales literature. I was at Jim's shop when he was designing the tweeter/midrange units, so it has been hard to let these go, but I finally have to make the step to something smaller.
The tops are anodized, and like all products I've seen like that, have eventually turned slightly purple, though you would have to be in the right lighting and know what you are looking for to see it (in normal room lighting, I doubt you even someone who knows the issue will see it). In the picture, I show a couple of discolorations on the top of one, which must be due to manufacturing, but again, this is not visible unless you try to see it (the photo really brings these out, but I promise they are not as obvious as the picture makes it look), I only saw them when I was looking closely to dust the speakers off.

| What is the minimal amount of power you can recomend to drive this speaker.Are there anyway you can get replaceable drivers for this speaker. they do need a decent amount of power (or high current). There are several glowing reviews on these speakers from Stereophile and Absolute Sound. I think their recommendation was 200w/ch. There is a company called "Coherent Source Service" that is owned by the top service technician at Thiel, and he bought all the parts from the build and service departments before they moved for many years of service going forward. |
