Description

For the enjoyment of music.  Lot's of changes over the years.  I typically won't buy something unless I can listen to it in my system.   Spending a lot of time recently searching out well recorded and interesting music via hi res downloads.   I have a really nice vinyl collection mostly Jazz and pop.  Digital I'm filling out my classical titles and more modern recordings.  Jan '16

System edited: I sold my Hyrda and Python cord. I used to love this, however I was listening to more digital. Now, mostly vinyl and I prefer the power cords going straight to the wall. Better dynamics and detail...

System edited: Symposium tweaks are killer. I'm going to half to buy a shelf or two now. The point pods and fatpadz are worth their weight in gold in my setup !!

jfrech

sounds like a great system. I am curious about the point pods and don't know much about them. how do you use them under the turntable. thanks

you have a very nice system, I would like to make a suggestion. I used to use the Transparent Reference with XL speaker cable and the Ref for the digital. I also used and still use the Transparent XL (30ft) between my DAC/Preamp to the amp. I suggest you try the HMS Grand Finle cable. I am not going to say anything, just give them a try. Christian, will send you cables for you to try for 30 days. Let me know what you think if you decide to do so.

System edited: just upgraded the amp from vk60 to vk75se. Wow what a step up. I'll post a review shortly...

nar_com, yeah I've thought long and hard about a 75se instead of dual vk60's. It's one of those things that I just can't decide, lot's of power, versus a little more thats better.

The VKP5 to P10 is a big step up. Much more dynamic, quiet, details just jump out more. Not a big $ diff used. For $1200 is it absolutely worth it!

Looks like a great system.
Could you describe your room - size, speaker placement,e.t.c.
As to upgades, how about upgrading VK60 to VK75SE instead of VK60 monoblocks. WP6 are efficient enough for one VK75Se to drive them. And I saw demo VK75Se here going for 5k, so if you sell VK60 it would be about 1K more than buing second VK60.
BTW, Have you compared P5 with P10 and P10 with other phonostages in that price range ? I'm considering upgrading P5 and wonder what is the difference between them and if you consider this upgrade reasonable.

Wow, that's a very impressive amalgum you've assembled. Your audio system probably costs more than many folks' homes -- which is about the worst thing I can say about it. But heck, it should hold it's value better than a Ferarri plus you don't have to worry about those infuriating parking-lot dings. Any pets? :)
