McIntosh MR78 Tuner

There is no question that the McIntosh MR 78 is iconic. It was chosen for the Consumer Electronics Hall of Fame.

What is not known is that the MR 78 was produced for 12 years (1972-1984) and exactly 10,801 were produced. The tuner that I'm offering has the serial no. CG2626. The final one had serial no. CG2801. This means that the one I'm selling is newer than 98.5% of the other 10,801s. The condition is excellent as you can see from the photos. You would expect my piece to command a price premium because of its relative newness. (Probably 1984 production.) But I'm offering the lowest price on the net for any MR 78 - just $1399 plus shipping. 

The manual is included as is a McIntosh double box system designed for another McIntosh tuner which works perfectly for this piece.
