System edited: Updating to reflect the following changes: Arrival of the New Troy Signature , TAD CR1s back in main room, Maestro Power Cord prototypes , and now using ALL BMC electronics via current injection mode. The system has never sounded so right.

System edited: Decided to dedicate this room for Jazz music only. Changed the Lansche No 3 to this room since it's texture and air in the mid and upper frequencies are a better match for Jazz.

HI Miguel,
BMC Electronics are so transparent, fast and non-editorial and therefore will only give you what is there without adding anything else. This could be bad if your system's AC and grounding foundation is not up to par. I have found that cables are also extremely important and so far the Stereolab Master Reference balanced cables are the only winner, the simply get out of the way and transmit the audio signal with utmost integrity. The Tripoint Troy and other "goodies" :-) are just simply removing all the noise and the results are simply stunning ! Fully using the current injection mode from the MCCI Phono directly into the M2 mono blocs by passing all typical preamp gain and amp gain stages, simply and utterly direct, fast and transparent with incredible bandwidth and dynamics, add to that the Troy and the dimensionality and noise floor is jaw dropping. I wish Michael Fremer would have heard the MCCI phono under these conditions and fully connected in CI mode to the M2s along with the Tripoint Troy, I believe he would have to say that the BMC MCCI is one of the best phono's out there period, regardless of price. Oh, one last piece to the magic I am hearing, TAD CR1 speakers, they are able to reproduce everything mentioned above like no other speaker I have heard. I look forward to going on the road, perhaps a show or two to share the synergy found with other audiophiles.

Best,
Fernando.

Hi Fernando,
BMC and Tripoint are completely unrestricted, and natural. You already know this. Nothing else to say. Regarding the new Stereophile Michael Fremer review of the BMC MCCI phono stage. Michael's conclusion of the BMC phono of saying that the BMC skimps somewhat on instrumental textures, timbres, bass and that it doesn't exhibit the stability, control of the Ypsilon VPS-100, Boulder 2008 and other top phono stages. This is not the case at all. This is nothing but a artificial false stability that these other circuit designs are imposing over the signal. With Tripoint as the foundation these weaknesses are exposed but most important is the fact that the music sounds constricted and editorial. These more complex circuits are trying to compensate for a lousy foundation.

Hi Andrew, yes you should. I think you are mainly using digital front end correct? There other very good live Jazz recordings under the CANDID label on CD which sound very good.

fvcruz

I will snag it. Kool

Here is a 16/44.1 recording of my system, copy and paste into your browser

This can give you an idea of what it sounds like. I will be doing with and without tripoint recordings for you all to hear the defference if possible via this medium.

I have compared the Troy to many other types of grounding concepts , filtration devices, etc. but I find it to be the best voiced and most effective of them all. The only product I have not tried is the ENTREQ but I have heard reviewers have preferred the Troy after owning both.

fvcruz

Sounds interesting......What changes were made? Also which other grounding devices have you compared it to?

nobrainer

System edited: Miguel from Tripoint Audio visited our showroom and gave a demo of the new and improved TROY which be called the TROY Signature and the improvement is substantial, at least 30-40 % better than standard version and sporting a new more sophisticated look. It is transformational and even the standard TROY had no competition now this new signature model simply crushes all other copy cats out there.

Thanks for your kind comments Miguel !! It's how you address key issues around your electronics that really get you to that level.

Hi Fernando, Congratulations first in making it happen with the synergy of components in the system. Your relentless pursuit of critical testing has taken your system to reach this level of purity. The TAD Compact Reference speaker is one amazing transducer which really let's you hear everything. It's speed, cohesiveness, and lack of compression redefine the meaning accuracy. As a designer of Tripoint Audio the TAD showcases the strengths of the Tripoint Troy. TAD does not destroy the timing, is phase coherent, and pure due to its uncanny speed. High resolution!! This combo of TAD, Tripoint Troy, and yes BMC is magical and intoxicating. High resolution purity meets musicality. Next for you is the Tripoint Thor speaker wires. No words can describe its effects in this stellar system. If you're ever in South Florida and are looking for a true reference system that you can use as a refernce benchmark, you owe it to yourself to stop by Fernando's for a listen. Bring a beach towel.?

Thank you Robert ! Good to have people come over who can hear !

I heard The Tripoint Troy in Fernando's main system and it made a world of difference to what I previously heard. All the instruments had so much more space and separation. The rim shots were increasingly coherent and in depth. It made a significant difference in the system.

With the Tripoint Troy I heard so much more information in the music that we were listening to. When he took it out of the system the magic was gone
It really cleaned up the ac lines so you get more musicality out of the system.

Hi Arnie, I have a combination of wall mounted bass traps from Michael Green and custom diffusors. I also have a big bass 48x24 trap which is mounted on the front wall very high up on the ceiling where the wall and the ceiling meet.

Best,
Fernando.

fvcruz

Hi, what are the various acoustic treatments that you are using across the front wall in your main room. Thanks very much,

Arnie

Thank you Robert !

I went to demo the system in the first room and what I heard was just breath taking. The space between the instrumets were awesome, timing was exceptional, the attack was incredible and the infomation that was being revealed from the system was spectacular.

Thanks! Enjoy! i have read great things about it...in fact, i have spoken extensively with one person who's very experienced, and felt of all the uber, hi-res DACs he heard...his 2 favorites were the Ypsilon NOS DAC and the Zanden NOS DAC.

Look forward to your feedback!
