Could you go into more detail why you liked the Spendor Classic 100 over the Spendor D7?  The two speakers use different tweeters.  The one in the D7 is supposedly more detailed, and as one reviewer thought, it sounded brighter to him.  The Classic 100 is probably more laid back (musical?).  I would guess it sounds more like a Harbeth speaker which I am familiar with.
