Description

This is the evolution of my Italian sound music room. Years of evolution... Happy so far but I built a system very sensitive to any change... Set-up will require considerable time. While all the rest is probably going to chance over time, I have landed in the speker firm suited for me Acapella and the TW acustics is the source I was looking for since a very long time. Three arms and various combination of cartridges and Step up transformers give me a lot of fun....and some headache too...

on 5ar4, try mullard gz-34 large base. 6l6, try GEC KT-66 or W.E 350b, will give you surprise! email me direct if you can, I have more tips for you. Cheer! Hill

Hello Hillyau: On the ref Phono I have got JJ tesla on all ECC88. The 5AR4 is a Sovtek (I know...this one should be a telefunken!) and the 6L6 is GE.

Trank,
Thank you for sharing. The last trial I have done has been with Vrtual Dynamics and I'm impressed by the results especially in terms of Dynamics. Still My taste is with Synergistic.. So I would Agree with your approach. The problem is that now I'm almost convinced to try MAGNEPLANAR 20.1 as next step...Before i do that any suggestion from Goners will be much appreciated. Marco

Hi, How big your room size? Is the tree for decorated or helping to bring better sounds? Why don't you use tube power amp? I also used AR Ref phono, I'm curious what type of tubes 5AR4, 6L6, 6922 your phono used? Cheer! Hill

Marco, I see you like synergistic intcs. I tried many diff intc's in my system. Never heard much diff til I tried Looking glass pII's. Images just bloomed, and I felt like i could hear the air in the soundstage!!

This was eight years ago, or so. I never heard much diff w spkr cables either. But, I just picked up a set of Resolution Reference X's. Same thing.....bigger images, with more body and more air!!

I tell u all this because you've got a large investment in your system. I would definately try moving up Synergistic's line!! Definately worth the investment!! Just my 2 cents:)))

Yes among the rest the treatment is the effort that paid back the most. And i do not like much the big cilinders!

System edited: just added DSS 3K filter on evrything but the Amplifier. Huge difference in terms of details and image depth (forward and backward). Very happy about the results. Congratulation to Martin Dillenhöfer for his products. it Worthed the efforts

Agreed. Without the treatment, the room was really not singing. I still need some carpets around to improve. But among all other things I have done, probably treatment gave the best Return of the effort

nice acoustical treatment, its often overlooked.

Thanks. Stay tuned,..I'm trying Virtual Dynamics next week and will report the outcome.

Nice treatment of the space...If we had relocated to upstate NY, we would have bought a remodeled old home that had s huge attic to be used as a music room/library..

Thanks for your words. I moved in this room 1 year ago and discovered some of the limitations you are talking about. In the smaller room I was in before the speakers did magic; in the current one I miss some weight in the bass. I'm working on cables to fix this since I really do not want to part from my beloved CS6. I will keep you posted on the results. About the JBL everest, i simply found them breathtaking....BUT i did not listen to them in My room...And so I can't say if they would make a step forward. For now I enjoy making ny system better and better ...

Awesome space! Great choice of gear. Those Thiels are absolutely awesome, although from what I have read, somewhat limited in extreme dynamics in a large space. Can you describe why the JBL Everests are your next likely upgrade? I'd be interested to know if you also auditioned Westlakes...

Congratulations, beautiful set up! All your time and effort has paid up, you should be very proud.

What a cool looking room... very impressive set-up, and great gear to go along with the great aesthetics!
