This system brings lots of enjoyment. My room is 20 feet by 30 feet with 12 to 18 foot ceiling. This is a very open and live sound not much damping to the system.

I don't know how I missed this thread...fantastic read from start to "finish"...hope its not finished by a long shot!! Congrats...I have heard the Altairs and Rockport probably are my favourite speaker line. I have heard the Arrakis and much older Merak Sheritan IIs as well.
As finely tuned as my system now is to my trusty old Wilson X1/Grand Slamms...which have been modified a bit...I often think of my next move...and Altairs are at/near the top of that list.
