Description

I've enjoyed LP vinyl for a while. Listen to the legendary recordings of the opera golden era, in my analog system, is an awesome experience.

I have spent near 20 years to built this system, that is now focused around Acuhorn speakers. The Rosso Superiore175 release the best experience of listening vinyl records better than any other speakers in my system.

I'm continuously improving the system as I'm looking for the best performance, so changes are continuous.

At 2015, June, a major upgrade was the Pluto Audio 12A/Moerch DP-8/VdH The Colibri addition to complete the system. Now I'm involved in a new project, new phono stage and solid state stereo poweramp. Work in progress.

Thanks for watching.

Simon Yorke/Simon Yorke tangential arm/Jan Allaerts sound like an absolute killer vinyl set-up... I think Jan Allaerts cardtridges are difficult to manage. Thinking in Koetsu Urushi Vermillion and/or Air Tight PC-1. But the analogue set-up won't come until a couple of years.

Now I'm looking for new amps for the Ursa Major. Krell is the most desired gear, but Cello are good candidates too.

I was close to sell the Cygnus, but now they continue working well in the second system in the oficce. I run them with old but good Classé stuff.

Keep in touch. Cheers !

Wow, seems like we very much appreciate the same kind of gear, you mention some of the names that really make me drool! Simon Yorke 'tables are just fantastic. I heard the full-out-assault set-up with the tangential arm, Jan Allaerts (what else!) cart on the Isenberg stand last year at the hifideluxe show (an "alternative" show to the High End in Munich). I stayed in that room for over an hour, marvellous (admittedly the looks of that tangential arm are like something out of a laboratory, though). Did you have a chance to hear the Bergmann 'tables, I think you would love those too.

I just saw you actually have the Chario Cygnus in your second system. Nice coincidence there again.

Enjoy the music!

Hi Karel,

thanks for your comments. Hope you'll see your dreams come true and the Presencio/Intra/Sunray set-up sounding in your home. Seems like a end-of-journey system.

Since there's always room for improvement of course I've plans to do. New monoblock powerstages, maybe Krell or The Gryphon to replace my Krell KSA 50S. After that, maybe will be time to think in a new turntable. I like Simon Yorke and Kuzma. We'll see.

Keep in touch. Kind regards.

Liking to upgrade: yes; planning to upgrade: certainly not this year. I'd like to ascend in Tidal's hierarchy so to speak: move to the present generation Contrivas and then, perhaps, substitute the Tidal Impact for the Intra. Over and above that, my absolute DREAM system would be built around the Sunray, external crossover and Intra mono blocks and the Presencio, but from a financial point of view that is just not even a remotely realistic plan. Apart from that, I have been considering having the AMR CD-77 upgraded to 77.1. We'll see.

Any desired changes in your system you have in mind?

As to hearing Contrivas in Munich, just be aware that they are not at the show every year. This year the Sunray was shown, hence my comment about my dream system. If you really set your mind on auditioning Tidal speakers an alternative idea would be to make an appointment with Joern (the factory is just outside Cologne). Perhaps you could organize it as part of a short holiday in the area.

Mnay thanks Karelfd, if you have the chance again try to listen it, Ursa Major are absolutely amazing, superb midrange an a tweeter that reveals pure liquid music.
No Tidal dealer in Spain so it's difficult to hear it, but maybe I'll visit Munich High End because I'm really interested in Contrivas.
Have you plans to upgrade your system ?

Thanks for commenting on my own system.

The Chario Constellation Ursa Major is one of those speakers, I have been wanting to hear for years and sadly always missed the opportunity (in Munich this year at Chario people were more interested in watching F1-races on TV). I had the Cygnus for a while, unfortunately, one can't keep everything but a friend of mine bought them from me, so I can still hear them at his place ;^) That Chario soft dome tweeter is just sooo musical in the best sense, I very much understand your mention of "emotion" there.
