AudioQuest - Volcano (10 ft. Double Bi-Wire) 72v DBS

This is one of the thickest, heaviest, and best sounding pairs of speaker cables I have ever heard in my lifetime! They have served me INCREDIBLY well over the last several years and due to a recent opportunity to upgrade to the Mythical Creatures line, this stunning cable is here for another passionate audiophile to drool over!
This was the very last and most sophisticated version of Volcano that Audioquest produced, which includes all the small improvements that were added over the lifespan of the cable. Volcano is comprised of 100% PSC+, which is AQ's very best copper conductor. Each full-range run is 9AWG!!! There are 2 boxes one for right and one for left...a single box weighs 9.5 lbs!!! This pair being a true bi-wire or double bi-wire is TWICE that thick, as it is 2 full-range pairs joined together at the amp end. This is done for several reasons that equate to MUCH superior performance over an internal or single bi-wire:

• The geometry of the cable is not compromised as it would be with an internal or single bi-wire.
• The cable has dedicated runs for highs and bass and thus significantly reducing distortion and providing a much blacker, quieter background for details to come through.
• There is also double the amount of metal able to transfer energy to the speakers and maintain grip, control, and precision.

A truly fantastic cable from top to bottom! Very quiet, detailed, and smooth! Fantastic highs, incredibly liquid mid-range, and the bass is HUGE,amazingly punchy, and articulate!
As far as age goes...yes they are from a previous generation, however I had to spend $10,000 to get something that was a worthy upgrade. The PSC+ throughout the cable, the 9awg per leg, and the DBW configuration along are VERY hard to beat. A 10ft biwire of Thunderbird Zero/Thunderbird Bass is 10K. This pair of Volcano DBW approaches that performance at a much discounted price.
Cables have minimal signs of use and in overall excellent condition. All 4 DBS packs have batteries, are fully functional, and have been secured with a matching black zip-tie for confidence. New AQ zipper cases and original boxes included. If I had not be so fortunate to have the opportunity to upgrade to a cable with some PSS in it, these truly fantastic cables would never be leaving my system!!
