I’m just not a headphone user (I’ve tried) and this amp is just not going to get used (by me) even though it has stellar sound quality. I’m a small boutique audio dealer and OEM and purchased this direct from headamp at normal selling prices. They sell direct and I don’t receive any kind of dealer concession so markup is definitely small.

The really great thing about this amp is that it allows for single ended RCA inputs and outputs and balanced XLR inputs and outputs. You can use either input and either output. There is a toggle switch to go from RCA to XLR outputs on the front panel. There is another toggle switch to use this as a stunning preamp or in the other position as a headphone amp. Plus, you can adjust the gain from hi to low with anther toggle switch. It makes this more than a headamp and a serious “Swiss Army Knife” type of audio component.

This is a solid state design, using Kevin Glimore’s circuit running at Class A specs that provide serious body and super clean 2nd order harmonics. This is why this unit sounds so good. I could see only using it as a preamp for my speaker system. However, I build my own stunning tube buffer and don’t need the preamp element. If I didn’t have my own buffer, this is the preamp I would use. It keeps up with preamps costing many times it’s purchase price and is a real bargain. It’s a world class preamp and headphone amp (single ended or balanced in, out, and headphone jacks).

I purchased this beautiful headamp/preamp new and received it this year. I’ve used it only 2 or 3 times in the few months I’ve had it in my non-smoker studio. It hasn’t moved even once from the position I placed it when taken out of the shipping box. I just disconnected it, dusted it off, took photos for this ad, and then placed it back in it’s double factory boxes. It’s in superb like-new condition and the satin blue front panel is beautiful.
