Ciscomc,

Very nice looking system. I do bet your taste in speakers differs from mine though. I prefer mine numb & heavy (I have Hales T8's). I heard the Gamut M250 in a system on Avalons recently and liked it a lot. I do wonder how they would work with dampening factor hungry speakers. I cannot seem to find any info on that aspect of the Gamuts. Do you have a clue..? Happy listening!

Hello Ciscomc

I am running the M3 line with aDAC 1.1 kit and Zero CDT transport fed into some Conquest Mono Blocks into Zingali Overture 2s 2006 model.

The question is, how have the conquests been, reliable and free form hassle?

Mine about 3-5 years use before I got it, went twice in the last 3 months, first maybe a valve failure leading to caps failure, repaired, then went again, but this time not the valves?

I love the sound, just want to know how they shape up with other folk re reliability of the units. They run hot, but don't push the 300bs too hard I think. 18 watts is ok for 2 300bs.

Ciscomc,

Can you comment on how well your M3 works with the Conquests? I have the Conquests and the AN-E and am currently using my old Audible Illusions M3A. I am heavily considering the M3 but was curious if the jump to the M5 or M6 is worth it. Currently all my gear is level 3. My Conquests are the standard models, my E's are the LX models. So I guess it would stand to reason that I should go with the M3. Given this info do you think the added cost of the M5/M6 would even be worth it considering that I will be integrating into an all level 3 system?

Ciscomc, What was your general impression of the AN Conquests? What did you like/not like about them. Thanks.

Great system and the speakers are lovely. What are your long term impressions of the M3 so far? Have you upgraded the tubes or running the stock units?

I never had the Snells, but I had heard something about the similarity before. What works with the Audio Notes is the interaction with the cabinet, as with a musical instument, as opposed to pretending the cabinet will not be part of the sound. The Conquest monos are a great match, but I was surprised to hear how well the very powerful GamuT M-250s made music. Very three dimensional and more dynamic. They don't quite have the holographic presence of the tubes, but they come close.

I'm curious: for awhile I owned a pair of Snell EIIIs (yours are based on the original EII). I was a huge fan of them and It took many very different and variant speakers to eventually knock them out of my system... did you ever have the chance to put these against the snell original?

I'm intrigued by your system. Should I ever need/desire to move from tubes it's good to know the GamuT works well with the E's (which I have). Very nice system. Looks like you put a lot of thought into it.

budrew

Very nice system, I will bet your system is musical.
