Re: is the Eclipse upgrade worth it? It was to me. I bought my Calypso new the year it was released and wanted to send it in for a tune-up. A couple of the solenoid selection switches needed a few pushes to activate. I have always loved this unit, and never considered an alternative. I decided to upgrade it, and assessing the levels of upgrade, I could see no reason not to go to the eclipse. The Calypso always sounded way ahead of it's class, so any noticeable improvement would be a bonus. I certainly did hear improvements - a little more air, transparency, solidity of bass frequencies, sonic images. I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. It would be hard to beat for the same price.
Hi there, nice system. Question for you....Can you describe the improvement from the regular Calypso to the Eclipse upgrade? Was it worth the expense? I'm considering the upgrade as well. It's a big jump in price to go to the Eclipse....
