Description

This system was designed after much research to provide the maximum audiophile pleasure for both 2 channell listening as well as 5.1 surround. After much looking and auditioning I wanted a class A speaker which also incorparated 5.1 when needed. Egglestonworks ANDRA II'S fit this application. In addition to producing the unbelievable Andra's They produce a complimentry ANDRA center channel when matched with their ISABEL speakers for the rears. The results are astounding either in 2.0 or 5.1. Egglestons approach makes sense. One can have a 2.0 system without out comprising quality when wishing to go 5.1. Some people like to split the systems one room 5.1 one room 2.0. I am here to tell you with this their is no need!!!

Source components are synergistically matched when listening to 2 channel. After much auditioning I decided on AUDIMECA.The MEPHISTO II.X for digital and Pierre Lurne's turntable ROMANCE/ROMEO COMBO with a tube technonlogy phono stage and benz glider cartridge. For Dvd the pioneer 47AI in addition their is the benifit of DVD-AUDIO and SACD in one box.

Preamplification for 2 channel is the Preface preamp from chapter audio. They are a very well known company in Europe and Asia. For reviews look at chapteraudio.com.

5.1 is done with the Aragon stage one plus it has great built in tuner.

Amplification is being done with Odyssey audio Stratos. Two EXTREME MONOBLOCKS for the ANDRA II'S A regular mono for the center and a stereo for the rears. (Not yet pictured) You've read the reviews need I say more.

This system was built with an open mind big money was spent when needed. Their are also great values in the system esepecially in the amps and dvd player.

Video is done with a Pioneer Pro 1000 50" Plasma. On top 3 13" sharp AQUOS Lcd's provide me with the ability to watch 4 channels simultaneously.

Tweaks consist of the Jps digital power cord connected to the independent power supply for the mephisto. Groneburg power cables for all 4 stratos amps. TG audio Hsra gen II power cord for the tube phono stage. and Richard grey 400s and 1200 s for outlets.

You think it's time to send my Andra's for update to Andra II's?

System edited: Just replaced the cd player.Swaped out the tube technology cd player with the newest version of Audiomecca's Mephistso 2.x. It's absolutley awesome. AT $6800 retail it's picey but well worth it.Anyone serious about Digital has to Audition this piece.

Looks like a good system.
Few questions though.
- Is it comfortable to be in the room with bright red walls for a long time? How did you come up with using that color for AV room?
- Aren’t your speakers a little too close to the front wall? Try to move them further into the room. They may sound better.

Nice setup and room. Looks very comfortable and I'll bet it sounds nice.

Good job.
