Hi Paul - my system is quite a bit out of date here. Corrected some but needs some work

I never home auditioned the Maggie's but I really wanted deep bass extension. Those Vandy Quattro's have a 300 watt sub in each and are customizeable for the room. They are great speakers.
But for your music genre you may really enjoy the Maggie's

Good luck

Hello,

Love your system. I am a Vandersteen owner, and I noticed that at one point you were considering Magnepan 1.7s, but that you ultimately went with the Quatros. I am considering either the 1.7 or the Treos. Midrange for mostly chamber music is what I'm after. What was your experience in evaluating those two brands, if I may ask?

Many thanks,

Paul

Hi Bob,
Speakers are Rogers LS 3/5a's sitting on an integrated Rogers AB1 subwoofer. REL 328 in the background
At times I have moved them out for critical listening where the right speaker would have no side wall

I concur, nice set of equipment. What are the speakers, I don't see them listed?

Have you ever put the speaker on the short wall, so the direct sound towards the kitchen?

Really nice collection of classic equipment. I like the variety of quality piece you've assembled.
