Description

Pictures forthcoming. I took a hiatus. My finances dictated that. So I started from scratch. I still have about 800 LPs...and no table. I'll probably get something simple like a Carbon and a fair Grado wood body. I had a pro vinyl rig, and not sure I can go down that rabbit-hole again. That said, I am still ripping CDs...since the year 2000. I have a about 3000 files over 96kHz, and then many decent needledrops at high-rez. I have been exploring a lot of demo discs from various manufacturers, and many 44kHz MFSL and DCC recordings. Some HDtracks stuff is hit or miss, others are outstanding. I have been organizing my collection to also create more great playlists, as I keep re-discovering and uncovering wonderful recordings. The room is probably as treated as it my wife will allow, and I plan to use Audiolense and native 64bit convolution in J. River Media Center after I let the settle settle in until the Fall of 2012. JRemote, thank goodness that app finally came along...it has really rounded out JRiver and I use the iPad to control the system whether it be the office or hifi, or streaming back to my devices while on the road.

    • Antelope Audio Zodiac Gold + Voltkus
Ted_B on AA and CA forums extolled the virtues of this unit direct to amp. It replaced a VERY high end preamp. I don't use the Windows control panel very often, and while some claim this DAC has build issues and noise issues, I have not experienced this. I had the Z+ for some time and I love the functionality of this DAC which will allow me to run a DSD into it via XLR.
    • Windows 7 x64 Silverstone Fortress
I've owned a few small ATOM servers using PSILE and OrigenAE M10 cases. PicoPSU etc but no linears, and this time around I decided to build a monster server to fully manage my 400K library. I decided to just use this to serve audio to the Zodiac Gold as opposed to the C.A.P.S. like M10 I owned because I want some raw power to do Audiolense DSP on 192+kHz files. In the past I have had issues trying to stream high sample rate files, and you could see the latency on the client machine rise and it struggled to cope, even using the WASAPI modes in JRMC. 16GB of RAM and a aquad core Intel on a modern ASROCK board which even had (1) PCI port! So I used that space for the SOtM PCI USB card (and the PCI-E wasn't out yet). The 5V on the card is switched off after handshake to the Zodiac Gold. I love this PC chassis with the vertical mounting as it makes flipping that switch or accessing cabling so easy.
    • Synology DS411j
Using (4) 3TB Western Digital Drives in Raid 5. It is connected directly to 3rd party PCI-E dual Intel NIC on the PC. Other PCs in the house on LAN, or me from car or work over WAN, connect to library server using J. River Media Center 17.
    • Decware SE 34.1
The new offering from Decware. I chose the straight amp version with VCAPS. Using either Cryo new-production Mullards or Black Treasures. EML 5U4 Mesh and some Pope PCC88.
    • Hoyt Bedford 1.5
I had Type 1 and they were damaged. These are the type 1.5 new driver in the Type 1 cab which has extra bracing and damping (RS mod?) and they are Zebrawood. 8
    • Omega Deep Hemp
Newer version of plate amp with no hum issue.
    • Antipodes Komako
    1.5m
    • Clear Day Shotgun
12ft pair. Solid core silver. Owned before and was trying decide between Mapleshade, CryoNova, Black Cat Firefly/Maestro, or these...
    • Audience adeptResponse aR2p Power C
Might try this on my PC and put the Magik Buss on the hifi.
    • Pi Audio UberBuss
    Waiting on this...
    • Herbies Audio Square Fat Dots
    (4) under each speaker
    • Acoustimac various absorbers
Some absorbers from Acoustimac. They made this nice art panel for us.

You cover the range from computers to tubes. Nice look in your art sound panels. Really a techno wonder that I have much too learn, viewing your pictures and comments will step me along the way.

Happy listening.
