great system! Which VPA version do you have? I recall there are several generations of VPAs with different options/improvements. Which ones do you have and how do they compare to other versions? I have a pari of Amadis and am considering VPAs.

Hi Robert,

I do enjoy the sound of RA Torlyte a honeycomb wood structure. Separation is much improved and I found wood gives a much more natural sound to metal, glass or perspex.

What helped even further were the marine ply platforms on top of the Torlyte. The marine ply stands on soft foam feet. The sound is even better due to the marine ply having a pleasant tone. This change improved the treble, widened the sound stage and firmed up the imaging.

I see from your system that isolation is important to you so hope these observations assist. Any queries do get in touch. Remember wood is superior to man made rack materials.

Very Nice System!!! :)

I love Verity speakers, IMHO one of the best speakers in the world. Although I am one of those that think Verity and Nagra are NOT a good match. Verity sounds much better with Lamm or Wavac. This applies for my hears ONLY! Maybe the Nordost cables compensate for the Verity - Nagra combination.

Do not want to sound negative it is just my opinion. ;) You are the one listening to the system at the end of the day!

By the way, excellent paint finish for the Parsifals!!!

Happy listening my friend,

\Mike

Yes the Verity's are the star of the system along with the Nagras. If your loudspeaker performs well reproducing the piano, violin and female voice then you know its a good one!

Nice system. Really like the Nagra and Verity together.

One suggestion is to get a power conditioner if you don't have dedicated lines for the Nagra.

You need the tweeter that runs to 40Khz which is much higher than the Encore one.
Can I clarify about the aluminum platforms. Verity said they will fit exactly with no overhang. This is because the Ovation gets its greater volume from increased hight but the other dimensions are the same.
Your views most wecome.

Could you give me the particulars of how you upgraded the tweeter on your encores. I contacted verity this morning and they state that one can upgrade the encore tweeter to the most recent encore tweeter, there have been three different encore tweeter's, but not the ovation tweeter. The person I spoke to did not seem to know the details of this and was a little unsure. They did take my speaker SN and will check on this and call me back. (great customer service). But your experience in this would be helpful. Thanks.

Yes you can get the Aluminum isolation platform. It is $515 in the US and includes 16 of the new sorbathan disks. The only problem is that it has an 1/8" overhang on the Encore base as the new ovation base is slightly larger. I considered this as I could just have it flush in front, a 1/4" in back and 1/8" on the sides. I really like the flush granite however. That and the fact that I am trying to find an amp for my Parsifals I put the isolation platform on the back burner.

Hi David

Yes the tweeter on the Parsifal monitor is upgradable. No need to purchase a whole new speaker. Relevant link is;-

I am enquirying with Verity if its possible to also purchase the Aluminum isolation platform to replace the existing Granite one.

You mention the Parsifal Ovation monitor for your encore's. Is verity able to upgrade the newest Encore tweeter directly with the ovation tweeter or did you need to buy a whole monitor. I know that the woofer is not upgradeable as it has a different cabinet but the monitor has not changed in size and there is no crossover from the midrange to the tweeter so perhaps. Let me know, thanks.
