Description

The system is temporarily set up until my carpenter completes making my rack. Cables not tied, etc. So it looks a little messy but will be cleaned up and wires tied off shortly.

Components Toggle details

    • Dr. Feickert Analogue Volare
Kuzma Stogi 9 in. Gimbaled Tonearm and Hana Umami Red Cartridge.

Arriving Next Week (November 27 - December 1) as an upgrade from my Rega P6.
    • T+A Elektroakustik PA 2500 R
Perhaps the finest integrated amplifier I've ever heard. It's magical and envelops you in the music. The imaging, soundstage, lush highs, and POWERFUL yet controlled bass combine into a thing of absolute beauty. I also have a PrimaLuna EVO 300 all tube integrated. It sounds absolutely brilliant, but it's no match for the T+A's complete package. Sounded better to me than any Mac or Luxman I've heard.
    • PrimaLuna EVO 300 Integrated Amplifier
Backup integrated amplifier. Sometimes use as my main integrated amp when listening to vocal-centric or acoustic music. Nothing makes vocal and acoustic strings come alive like a good tube amp.
    • Klipsch Cornwall IV
Bi-Wired to T+A integrated amp via AudioQuest Robin Hood Zero full range and Robin Hood BASS cables.

These speakers produce concert level rock for the rare moments I crank it. It reminds me of the old Maxell commercial with the dude getting his hair blown back. But the speakers are fantastic at low levels, too.

But these are not purely "rock" speakers. They tackle complex jazz passages and orchestral music with aplomb. Fantastic speakers, particularly at their price range. Hard to imagine beating them without stepping in the $10k+ range.
    • REL 212/SX Stereo Pair
Connected to T+A integrated via REL Baseline Blue Speakon connects.

Two active drivers and two passive drivers per speaker, each powered by 1000 watts. These brutes could knock the house down to the foundation. But their true beauty lies in their subtlety, musicality, and detail. Perfect match for my Cornwalls.
    • Aurender A15
    Streamer/DAC/1TB Hard Drive.

Dual mono AKM AK4490 chips and dual mono carrier supplies. Beautiful sounding digital that sounds more like analog than any other DAC I've heard.
    • Marantz SACD30N
    SACD Player and Streamer.

This unit punches way above its price. The Marantz DAC is fantastic at this price point. Not quite the level of the Aurender A15, but not in a different universe. Highly recommend for a more affordable streamer/SACD player for those into digital.
    • Sutherland KC Vibe mkII
    Phonostage.

This $900 phonostage sounds better than any phonostage I've heard below $2,000. An absolute bargain.
    • AudioQuest Niagara 5000
    Power Conditioner.

HUGE game changer. Overall sound improvement and dead silent, black backgrounds.
    • Schiit Audio Loki Max
    Analog Equalizer.

Rarely used, but when it's needed (poorly pressed records), I'm glad to have it. Makes slight changes that get the job done without adding a digital signal.
    • Kuzma Stogi 9 in. Gimbaled
Stogi 9 in. Gimbaled Tonearm using Hana Umami Red Cartridge
    • Hana Umami Red Cartridge
Hana Umami Red Cartridge attached to Kuzma Stogi 9in. Gimbaled Tonearm and Dr. Feickert Volare table.
    • AudioQuest Robin Hood
Robin Hood ZERO and Robin Hood BASS speaker cables, biwired to T+A integrated.
    • AudioQuest Mackenzie 1M XLR
Interconnect between Aurender A15 and T+A integrated. All other interconnects are MacKenzie RCAs.
    • AudioQuest MacKenzie
RCA interconnects to all components except for the Aurender A15, which connects via MacKenzie XLRs.
    • REL Baseline Blue Speakon Connect
Both REL 212/SX subs connected to the integrated amp via the Baseline Blue Speakon connects.
    • Nordost Red Dawn power cord
Power cable to the AudioQuest Niagara 500 Power Conditioner
    • Nordost Blue Heaven LS
Power cables running to the REL 212/SX subs, T+A integrated, and Aurender A15.
    • Sbooster BOTW AC Power Supply
Power supply to turntable and Chord Switch
    • AudioQuest NRG Z-3
Power cable connected from AudioQuest Niagara power conditioner to Marantz 30n.
    • English Electric (Chord Co.) 8-Switch Ethernet Switch
Audio-grade 8-port switch with TXCO clocks.
    • Nordost Heimdal II
Individually shielded 23 AWG silver-plated copper conductor ethernet cable. Runs from my router to my Chord Switch.
    • Audio Desk Systeme Vinyl Cleaner Pro X
Almost every LP I run through this ultrasonic LP cleaner sounds audibly better after. I now run every LP through it first before playing (unless it's had a prior cleaning in this unit in the prior 2 years). Even brand-new LPs, which often have oils and other gunk left over from the manufacturing process, are run through the Audio Desk before playing. The Vinyl Clearner Pro X is pricey but unquestionably worth it IMHO.

Oops. Thanks for pointing that out, David. I use Klipsch Cornwall IVs. I just updated my account to reflect that.

Nice - but am I missing it? What are the speakers?
