SECOND STEREO ATTEMPT:

IT IS QUITE FAST CHANGING ALMOST MY ENTIRE SETUP. THAT BUG HIT ME PRETTY BAD I GUESS. NOW I'AM ENJOYING MY NEW RIGS AND REALLY HAPPY WITH THEM. MY NEXT UPGRADE WILL BE INTERCONNECTS AND SPEAKER CABLES. I MIGHT GO TO PURIST, NORDOST, OR BOGDAN. STILL UNDECIDED.

FIRST STEREO ATTEMPT

I'M PRETTY MUCH SATISFIED WITH MY STEREO SYSTEM RIGHT NOW. GETTING MYSELF INTO THIS HOBBY WAS INSPIRED AND INFLUENCED BY MY DAD WHO HAS BEEN INTO THIS FOR 30 YEARS. HE REMINDS ME ALWAYS BEWARE OF THE AUDIOPHILE BUG! THERE’S NO CURE ONCE YOU GET BITTEN!”

I'M REALLY CAREFULL ON MY BUDGET THAT’S WHY MOST OF MY EQUIPMENTS ARE PASS DOWNS FROM AUDIOPHILE GUYS. I'M JUST STARTING TO UPGRADE MY FRONT END AND ABOUT TO HAVE MY ALON MODEL 1 SPEAKERS REPLACING MY B&W DM603 S1...MY GOAL IS TO HAVE A FEEL OF LIVE AND DETAILED MUSIC PLAYING IN MY SYSTEM, JUST LIKE HAVING THE BAND PLAYING IN MY LIVING ROOM.

thank you very much jayson for your input. i corresponded w/ duntech and they were very helpful.the company is very much alive but keeping a low profile and they are introducing a new line of speakers.is it possible for you to e mail the serial no. of your speakers.by the way i posted my system in www.stereopal .com see under audiophile home visit its under my name.maybe you can post your system there also.

hope to hear from you soon jayson,

kumusta po kayo, my room is almost same as yours (19'x12'x9') but im using the 12' wall for my setup. the princess has a very good tonal balance as long as it's far away from the back. the duntech's basically advice to have no side walls when positioning the speakers. i haven't tried it. i put some acoustic treatment on my side walls as well to control the bass response. i advice that you use the 17' wall as your reference. over power the room? yes! as long as you listen to high volume level. 9 to 10'oc is enough (IMO) and will give you a good image, big soundstage, fine details, very good bass weight, and a transparent mid range. that's what i'm hearing on my system as i'm using an all tube system.
your amps are enough to drive the speakers (except ARC D79B 75w/ch-speakers require atleast 100w), they're pretty efficient.
i bought mine less than $3000 but i guess you're right that it's very rare to find it in pinas.
the speakers are true classics and still on the market right now. i think a lot of professional studios are using this speakers as they are using dynaudio drivers.
i would say go for it as we all quest for the best sounding equipment! goodluck

jayson,

lm a fellow filipino but im based in the phillippines. am also contemplating in buying a duntech princess.whats the size of your room mine is 17x12x7ft.do you think the speakers will over power my room? i will be driving them using the foll. amps ARC D79B 75w/ch,ARC D250mk 2 servo, ARC classic 150 monoblocks 140w /ch. hope you can help me before i take the plunge to buy these duntechs.the princess cost $4000 here in the philippines and very rare.

thanks! i'm planning to put (1) 2x4's (auralex) foam panels on each side of the wall adjacent to speakers for sound treatment, i notice that sound bounces everywhere, i'll try to minimize that. but putting rag is the simpliest way to do it.

Looks to be a great start, try throwing a blanket over the TV when listening to music, the detail will improve greatly.
