I purchased this from The Music Room a few years ago and have really enjoyed it. Now I want to revisit tubes.
This amplifier's original owner had sent the amp into Threshold to have the following modifications performed: Threshold 4000 200 wpc pure class A into 8 Ohm load. Updated PM-1 Stasis E gain balanced and packaging. Replaced power supply capacitors with 1500 uF/100 wide computer grade electrolytic capacitors. Replaced bridge rectifiers with 35 ampere rated components, upgraded RCA input jacks and 5 way bind post connectors with gold plated components as required. The upgrade included rewiring the amp with monster wire. Stasis included updating output to E series Stasis topology replacing all output transistors with new 20 amp/200 volt devices and all circuit boards resistors and associated to covert to Stasis topology. E gain updated in the "front end" control circuitry - this replaced the front end control boards to update to E series topology. Balanced update. Rear panel of amp replaced with panel containing XLR balanced input connectors (600) Ohm and standard gold plated RCA connectors and switch to select between them.
This amp sounds beautiful and is in exactly the excellent condition it was in when I received it from The Music Room.
