Cary Audio CAD-50m

For Sale: One pair of Cary CAD-50 M Mark 2 Version 3
Monoblock Amplifiers.  Unfortunately,
there are many versions of these of the Cary CAD-50 Monoblock Amplifiers which
can be very confusing. But fortunately,
this version of the Cary CAD-50 M is the Mark 2 Version 3, which is by far the
best version of these Amps that Cary ever built. These Cary CAD-50 M's are very rare and this pair is only pair that I have ever seen.  What makes these Cary CAD-50 M’s Mark 2
Version 3 Amps, the best Version is the fact that they use two input tubes per
channel instead of just one input tube per channel. Additionally, these Cary CAD-50 M’s Mark 2
Version 3 Monoblock Amps don’t have an Auto-Biasing circuit which is common
with almost all the other Versions of the Cary CAD-50 M Amps. These two factors make these Cary Monoblock
Amps sound and perform more like Cary’s other High End Single ended Monoblock
Amps and not like Cary’s Entry Level Amps.
Another great feature of these Cary CAD-50 M’s is the fact that they use
two inexpensive 6550/KT-88 power tubes per channel instead of one rare and very
expensive Single Ended Transmission tube per channel.

I would describe the condition of these Cary CAD-50 M Mark 2
Version 3 Amplifiers as very good, 8 out of 10.  These Cary CAD-50 M’s Amplifiers come with
Tungsol 6550 power tubes.  The previous
owner said the 6550’s were brand new when he sent me the Amps.   I have
put less than 100 hours on these 6550 power tubes in the three years that I
have owned the Amps. I have the original Cary boxes, but the Styrofoam inserts
were terrible, so I replaced them with much better foil backed rigid foam.   I
believe that I am the second owner, I purchased the Cary CAD-50 M’s from an
Architect in North Carolina who said that he purchased them new.   I
believe that have been used in a smoke free environment because when they get
warm, they don’t emit any funky tobacco smells. 
When I received the Cary CAD-50 M Amplifiers, one of the
Triode/Ultralinear Switches was broken.
I had the Amp repaired locally by the Stereo Doctor here in Tucson.  After the repair, the Amp has worked
perfectly.

These Cary CAD-50 M Mark 2 Version 3 Monoblock Amplifiers
are the best sounding Amplifiers that I have ever owned. Included with the Sale is a Cary Audio Bias Meter for Biasing.
