CA - 1 | SME Series III or III S Carrying Arm
Original CA - 1 titanium nitride arm. Never mounted and in its original SME foam package. No SME retail box.
This carrying arm will fit the Series III or Series III S precision pick-up arm.
This carrying arm is in great condition. Rating is a 9 only due to age and lack of the retail box.
This arm has the early black insulation on the head leads. All other CA-1 arms that I have seen feature a clear "shrink" insulation.
I checked with SME on this model variation and the SME service manager replied:
"These carrying arms are technically the same apart from the insulation used and are completely interchangeable. The arm was produced in June 1977."
The arm was acquired by me in 1990 from the Shure employee store.
It has been sitting in my SME parts storage bin since that time as I had other arms available for my Series III pickup and never needed to put this in service.
