The Sony DVP-S7700 Reference DVD Player plays DVDs, music CDs and Video CDs. It has superb build quality.  It has special materials and construction that are used to isolate the playback system from external vibrations and internal resonances. Once the sliding front panel locks in place after a disc is loaded, you'll never hear the disc spinning during quiet passages.

Sony's Dual Discrete optical pickup uses two lasers, one optimized for DVD playback and one for CDs. DVD picture quality is beautifully filmlike. The DVP-S7700 has much of the same CD circuitry found in Sony's ES CD players; its audiophile-quality sound beats many high-end CD-only players. Operation is smooth and precise and has an exceptionally well designed remote control.
