DCS Puccini SACD/CD player/DAC and Puccini UClock for sale.

I bought these in around 2011, and for a long time they were the heart of my digital system, with the UClock accepting a USB input, converting it to SPDIF, and feeding the DAC in the matching SACD player. The SACD player then drove a pair of Krell Evo 600 amps and Revel Salon1s directly. It sounded awesome.

Earlier this year I upgraded my computer to a 2011 Macmini, running Catalina, and discovered the UClock is a version 1 model, and has difficulty with the USB to SPDIF conversion in later editions of MAC OS.

dCS was kind enough to design a conversion for the UClock to be brought up to version 2, fully compatible with newer MAC OS. While the new board was halfway thru its lengthy QC burn-in the factory in Great Britain closed due to CV.

dCS was then kind enough (they are a great company by the way), to help me find a DeBussy DAC which solved the uClock’s USB to SPDIF conversion issue; the DAC handles that directly.

They then sent me back the clock, and I’ve had it doing clocking duty for the SACD as well as the DeBussy. Never misses a beat—I’ve run the system with and without the clock and I really can tell a difference. The UClock clocking function works perfectly; I just got a Rossini clock hence the sale.

I checked with dCS and they confirmed the conversion kit for the UClock is still available. If a new owner wants to have the conversion made (to allow USB to SPDIF conversion on recent versions of MAC OS) I can provide points of contact at dCS; they are aware this might be requested. The price quoted me previously was $1,000.

The SACD player has a moderate scratch above the display window, but ya have to be at just the right distance and angle to see it. Seated in front of it, it’s not there. Otherwise, both pieces are pristine, and one of the nicest pieces of audio jewelry I’ve had.

PayPal adds 3% or friends and Family can be selected at checkout to avoid the fee.

Shipping will be based on actual cost. I have a Paganini box for the SACD (perfect fit), and the UClock will be shipped in its original container (this has seen a few miles but is reinforced with a bunch of carbon fiber duct tape).
