Custom full range horn system. Designed and built by Mike Bates (Magnetar). Dubbed the Stargate Transporter.
The system consists of 2 large stereo towers, 1 horn subwoofer and matching external subwoofer amp, and a Marchand crossover for the option of active biamping between the mid bass horns and the MTM midrange/tweeter.
Currently the system is setup for the stereo towers to run off one amp. I've always been a fan of investing in 1 great amp rather than 2 good amps.
The system was designed to provide the strengths of horn mid bass and sub bass, with the strengths of cone/ribbon midrange and treble. These technologies blend seamlessly in this design, providing the truth of timbre of cones/ribbons in the mid and treble, with the detail, speed, and impact of horn mid bass/sub bass.
Cabinets are massively overbuilt, using Cherry plywood.
Minimalist crossover using Duelund crossover parts and solid silver internal wiring.
The mid bass horns and the sub horn are straight, with no folds. This was an important design point in order to achieve maximum clarity to the bass and mid bass.
Specs:
Stereo towers: 102dB efficient, 8 ohm
Horn Subwoofer: 106dB efficient
Tweeters: ESG1 (Aurum Cantus) Ribbon Tweeter
Midrange Drivers: 2 x JBL 2123J drivers (10 inch drivers)

Reason for sale: 5 years ago I moved to a new home. Unfortunately the speakers did not fit down my basement stairs at the new home. The stairwell has low ceilings and a 90 degree turn.
The speakers have been carefully wrapped in plastic and placed in storage.
Horn sub dimensions:
50 inches wide
22 inches deep
73 inches tall
Speaker tower dimensions:
19 inches wide
33 inches deep
77 inches tall
Although it is not required, it is recommended that the buyer is relatively handy and is experienced in hi-fi systems.
