Selling a pair of a fantastic example of McIntosh MC-60 Tube Mono HiFi Amplifiers.
These were purchased from the recording studio of Dr. Fred Bashour who has a Phd in audio engineering. He owned several McIntosh amplifiers, as well as many other high end audio items.
These were examined by my personal tech, who is well versed in all things McIntosh. Here are his notes:
MC60 #1
This amplifier is in working condition. No hum or noise was noted.
The circuit appears to be stock McIntosh. This amplifier has been rebuilt with new capacitors and a set of EI KT90 output tubes.
The KT90 is a somewhat rare super KT88 with better specs and is known for great sound.
It has an Audio Classics sticker on the chassis. That doesn’t mean the work was done by them but it’s a name people recognize and respect.
The specifications are as follows:
Your amp should meet these specs since it has not been modified.
Output: 60w.
Response: 20-30kHz (+0.1 -0.1dB).
Distortion: 0.5%.
Noise & hum: -90dB.
Output impedance: 4, 8, 16, and 600 ohms. 600 ohm balanced to ground. 4, 8 and 16 ohms isolated from ground.
Damping factor: 12 for 4, 8 and 16 ohms.
Input impedance: 500k.
Input sensitivity: 0.5V.

Please note the following:
There is some pitting on the chrome on one amp, but nothing significant.
Knobs are missing on both amps.
These MC60's are likely to be the best you might ever heard. Between the rebuilds and the upgrade from the stock KT88's to the KT90's, these amps sound AMAZING.
