McIntosh MC-275 Mark IV

Rating of "9" is because of unit's age. I purchased this from Audio Unlimited in Denver about 16 years ago. I am the original owner. Most of the time before retirement I traveled overseas on business, so this unit is lightly used. No one in this household smokes, so it has been kept in a clean environment. I am presently using the original MacIntosh 12AX7 as the input phase splitter, but the channel 12AX7’s are NOS GE; the four 12AT7’s are NOS Sylvania’s. The four power tubes are NOS rebranded GE 6550a’s. I don’t think the NOS tubes even have 100 hours on them. This tube combination really sings – it took the musicality of the amp to a different level. I take meticulous care of my equipment and this unit is in outstanding almost new condition. There are a few very minor surface scratches near the speaker connections. Very difficult to photograph.

Complete with manual and power cord; I will include speaker cable adapters to facilitate the connection of modern speaker cables.

I am 74 years old and am preparing to move into a smaller place, I need to lighten the load. Of all the equipment I’ve owned this is my favorite but I’m afraid I am not going to have room for this hobby in its present form factor!

The new price of the current MC275 is around $6000. I am asking $3800 for this unit.
