If you are in need of a replacement or just always had a desire to own a McIntosh product with their great analog and processing sound, then have a look. This is a working unit, currently in my system, just not used nearly enough and I want someone to enjoy it as much as I used to. It has recently been serviced, replacing all lights even though only one or two was needed. Calibration of all rotary knobs, and even preventative replacement of known issues with "components" that have failed in other units according to McIntosh. All service was performed by McIntosh service locations and all replacement parts came directly from manufacturer. I know because I had to wait for them. Even when having service done, I drove the unit, never shipped, out of cation for the processor. Drop off, and pick up.
As you can see from the pictures the front glass piece is very clean, and reflective, making it hard to take a picture that does reflect the room. The display is 100% functional and the clean front that McIntosh is famous for has 100% functional indicator lights, and working knobs and buttons. The remote is kept safe, never stored with batteries, and operates the unit. The AM and FM tuner heralds back to the solid build quality, and great performance that used to be in units of this caliber.
In its previous system the McIntosh MX118 was connected to an Atari system, a DVD player, and the video, and audio worked perfectly. In the current system it is primarily used for audio, and again is verified to be 100% operational and sounds great as the McIntosh is known for.
The remote didn't really get used since I use a universal remote, but you couldn't tell from looking at it. It didn't age well, even in drawers. There has always been something shaking around, but it fully works, so I have never had it opened up, or tried myself. I included some pictures for reference.
As soon as sold, I will pack it up and ship. All shipping costs are at the expense of the buyer. I recommend local pickup if possible, but can have it packed and insured accordingly if requested. No trades please.
