Marantz 10B (NEAR PRISTINE)! REDUCED!

In addition to being in fabulous cosmetic condition it has also been completely refurbished and aligned! The restoration and upgrades were performed by Avatar Engineering a 30 man hour labor of love, a $2200 service in April 2020, which included all new NOS Mullard Bugle Boy, Telefunken and Sylvania tubes, all new higher quality electrolytic capacitors throughout. All new polypropylene, polystyrene  film caps which replaced the inferior sounding mylar capacitors. All power diodes were replaced with ultra fast soft recovery rectification. The schottky diodes were replaced with audio grade mil-spec units. Any out of spec. resistors were upgraded to Vishay S102  foil Takman and Dale mil-spec .1% ultra quiet precision resistors. Various ceramic pf capacitors were substituted with polystyrene units, along with a  NOS Amperex oscilloscope tube. All the switches and potentiometers were cleaned and lubricated. It was then driven it to Mike Zuccaro (best 10B tech on the planet!) for an alignment/adjustments and new optocouplers.The cabinet and screen are also in great condition and have been refinished by a professional cabinet maker,( See pictures). As to the sound performance, all I will say is I feel quite comfortable to say it is the best I have ever heard and we have heard them all. Is the Marantz 10B the best tuner ever made? YES! On another note, the Marantz 10b has become one of the 10 most sought after Audio collectables of all time and for good reason it has  also outperformed the stock market year after year!
