Thorens TD124 Cocobolo Panzerholz Plinth

Thorens TD124 Statement Long Base Compact series plinth individually precision hand crafted by Artisan Fidelity premium satin clear coat and premium ultra high gloss permanent clear coat examples shown.  This bespoke plinth features our time proven and tested layered constrained layer damped Panzerholz composite core enveloped in a genuine Nicaraguan Cocobolo 1" inch thick solid lumber plank wrap (not a thin shop type veneer) with matching Panzerholz Cocobolo armboard.  Genuine raw Cocobolo wood lumber is highly sought after, extremely expensive and becoming increasing rare making it more and more difficult to obtain due to strict North American import restrictions.  This exotic central American rosewood species is known namely for its immense natural beauty, durability and seductive tonal characteristics, hence the reason for use in numerous musical instruments, heirloom furniture and tonearm wands.

As a small production bespoke manufacturer, our net cost for the raw Cocobolo lumber required for this world class plinth was $700 alone, not including the additional expenses required for importing the renowned German Panzerholz base material, multilayered tonewood composite core, base block construction, cnc milling, hand finishing, spraying, curing, seal coating, hand cut Cocobolo plank, final clear coat wet sanding and buffing, wiring harness, Furutech Gold IEC inlet, shielded pure Copper power cable plus a custom made heavy duty internally lined wood shipping crate. 

This long base compact style plinth will accept a single tonearm of 9"-12" effective length compatible (up to 305mm pivot-to-spindle distance).  We designed this model exclusively for clients requiring a slightly more modestly sized physical footprint in a long base style plinth compatible for ~ 12" length tonearms.
