Black & white...and sweet like the namesake cookie! So what was done?
* Powdercoated top and bottom covers - Gloss White finished top, Gloss Black bottom
* Upgraded all resistors to metal film
* Upgraded all capacitors (includes ceramic, film and electrolytic)
* Replaced all transistors and diodes (except output transistors)
* Replaced Main and Remote speaker switches
* Replaced lamp (with incandescent) and fuse
* Cleaned all potentiometers (includes removing them from PCB for access)
* Set bias voltage to spec
This is a surprisingly competent amp with efficient loudspeakers and would also make an excellent candidate for a desktop (PC) sound system. And it's so cute, I feel like it needs feeding and care instructions. :-D
If you can find a better sounding 1030, buy it...but you won't be able to find one.
