Finally have some money to make a decent system, so got rid of some old pieces circa 1993 and bought the Denon amplifier. This got me buzzing, so I upgraded cd player, speakers, and finally decided to try the Perpetual Technologies gear. With the great deals on the internet and especially Audiogon, I outfitted myself with a system I enjoy.
I have quite a few old records, but rarely listen to them, so didn't update the record player, at least not yet.
Instead of spending too much on a stereo, I have spent most of my life collecting music to enjoy. Even if an album sounds great, it still has to be interesting.
I think my favorite part of the system are the Meadowlark speakers. They are so unique and have changed my listening appreciation more than anything else. The Perpetual Technologies gear really kicks up the sound too. I highly recommend both Sonic Horizon and RS Audio as two companies that make precision, hand-made, quality cables.
Pickup a Lovan Trisolator for your CD player-It's a sand-filled platform that sits on three rubber filled cones on top of your top shelf. I have the Lovan Sovereign rack which is real similar to yours with a trisolator and I really like it.
